Quebec Skilled Worker/Professional Selection Criteria -
Educational Training

The evaluation of Skilled Worker/Professional applicants intending to reside in Montreal or another city in the Province of Quebec is a two stage process. The Educational Training Factor is one of the nine factors for which points are awarded during the second stage of the Quebec selection process. Up to 19 points are awarded under the Educational Training Factor on the following basis:

Schooling:

Number of Points	Level of Education
0 points	The applicant has not completed a secondary or high school education

3 points	The applicant has completed secondary/high school education

4 points	The applicant has completed a one-year post-secondary program

5 points	The applicant has completed a two-year post-secondary program

7 points	The applicant has completed a three-year post-secondary program

7 points	The applicant has completed a one-year university program

7 points	The applicant has completed a two-year university program

8 points	The applicant has completed a three-year university program

9 points	The applicant has completed a four-year university program

11 points	The applicant has completed a second level university degree (Master's)

11 points	The applicant has completed a third level university degree (PhD)

Second Specialty:

Number of Points	Duration of Second Specialty Program
2 points	The applicant has completed a one year program in a second specialty

4 points	The applicant has completed a two-year (or longer) program in a second specialty

Note: all educational programs must have required full-time study

Preferred Training:

4 points are awarded to applicants who have university or non-university training in a preferred training field.
