Quebec Skilled Worker/Professional Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of Languages
The evaluation of Skilled Worker/Professional applicants intending to reside
in Montreal or another city in the Province of Quebec is a two stage process.
The Knowledge of Languages Factor is one of the nine factors for which
points are awarded during the second stage of the Quebec selection process.
Up to 24 points are awarded under the Knowledge of Languages Factor on
the following basis:
- Up to 8 points are
awarded depending upon the applicant's level of French language
comprehension
- Up to an additional 8
points are awarded depending upon the applicant's level of French language oral
expression
- Up to an additional 3
points are awarded depending upon the applicant's level of English language
comprehension
- Up to an additional 3
points are awarded depending upon the applicant's level of English language oral
expression
- An additional 2 points are awarded if the applicant has completed studies in French at a secondary or post-secondary level.
